Who we are

Northamptonshire Removals operates northamptonshirereremovals.co.uk and provides removals and storage services across Northamptonshire, long-distance work nationwide and, for European moves, to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. We are the data controller for the information described here. Reach us at hello@northamptonshirereremovals.co.uk.

What the quote form collects

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • The pickup address
  • The drop-off address
  • Your moving date, if you give one
  • Anything you write in the notes field

Alongside that we receive ordinary technical information — IP address, browser, pages viewed — from analytics and from the anti-spam check protecting the form.

Why we hold it

To answer your enquiry, survey and price the move, carry it out if you go ahead, and keep a record of work done. The lawful bases are taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing that contract once made, and our legitimate interest in running and accounting for the business.

Surveys, photographs and access notes

When we survey a property, in person or by video call, we make notes on the contents and the access. Where you send photographs of a lane, a gateway, a staircase or a parking situation, those stay with the job file so the crew can plan around what is actually there. We do not use pictures of your home for marketing.

Councils, buildings and managing agents

Arranging a suspended parking bay means giving the relevant council the date, the vehicle and the location. Moving into or out of a managed block frequently means sending the managing agent our insurance details and a move window. We send only what is asked for.

European moves and customs

A move to France, Spain, Italy or Portugal cannot happen without sharing information outside our business. Customs authorities and clearing agents at both ends need your name, both addresses, the tax or identification reference you have supplied, and the inventory of what is travelling. Crossing operators need vehicle and consignment details. This is a legal requirement of the move rather than something we can waive on your behalf.

Who else sees your information

Our own staff and crews, and the systems we use to manage enquiries, quotes and jobs. Where a move involves a partner firm at the destination, they receive what they need to deliver it and nothing more. We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to unrelated companies for marketing.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses analytics to understand which pages people read and where enquiries come from, plus a spam-prevention service on the quote form. No advertising cookies are set. You can block cookies in your browser and the site will still work, form included.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while they are live and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back, then deleted. Records of completed moves are kept as long as accounting, insurance and tax obligations require.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where nothing obliges us to keep it, object to particular processing, or ask us to restrict it. Email us and we will deal with it. If you are unhappy with how we respond you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

Amendments appear here. Anything that materially affects somebody with a live booking is communicated directly rather than left on a page to be discovered.
