Northamptonshire Removals The Rose of the Shires

About us

A county firm, not a town firm with a radius

Northamptonshire Removals covers the whole county — house, flat, man-and-van and office moves — with a long-distance arm and road removals into four European countries.

Northamptonshire is an unusual county to work. There is no single dominant city that everything orbits — Northampton is the largest town, but Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough each generate their own moves, and a great deal of what we do runs between a village and a town rather than across a built-up area.

That shapes how a firm has to operate here. A business set up to serve one town with a radius drawn round it will treat half the county as a trip out. We are organised the other way: the county is the patch, and the villages between the towns are the part that needs the most local knowledge.

The heritage bit, kept honest

Northampton, Rushden, Kettering and Wellingborough grew around boots and shoes, and the terraced streets built for the people who made them are still the housing stock we work in most often. That is the extent of the connection — we are a removals firm, not a continuation of anything, and the leather-tan on this site is a nod to the county's history rather than a claim about ours.

How we work

We look before we quote

Every quote follows somebody seeing the property — in person for houses and village work, on a video walk-round for smaller jobs. A price given blind is a price that changes, and it always changes on the morning when you have no choice.

The quote is the price

If something genuinely changes the job — a loft nobody mentioned, a lane that turns out to be narrower than the map suggests — we tell you what it means before we act on it rather than putting it on an invoice afterwards.

The same crew, both ends

No handing your move to whoever is free at the other end. You meet the people who will be carrying your furniture, and they are the people who unload it.

County-wide, and honest about it

We work the whole of Northamptonshire rather than one town with a radius drawn round it. Corby, Oundle and Brackley are ordinary bookings, not trips out — and if a job genuinely suits a firm on your own street better, we will say so.

Insurance and terms

We carry goods-in-transit and public liability cover. The limits, the exclusions and the process for reporting a problem are set out in the booking terms, and we would rather you read them before you commit than afterwards. Anything unusually valuable should be declared at survey so it is properly accounted for.

What is not on this website

Star ratings. Trade body badges. Certifications. A count of years in business or of moves completed. All of those are easy to type and impossible for you to verify, and a firm asking to carry everything you own should start by not printing things it cannot stand behind. If any of that changes, it will appear with something verifiable attached.

Where to go next

The services page sets out everything we do. The county goes town by town at the altitude this site works at. Long distance covers moves out of the county, and the European hub covers leaving the country. If you already know what you need, the quote form takes a couple of minutes.

Rather talk to a person first?

Plenty do. Ring or send a note through the contact page and we will answer questions without steering you towards a booking.
